Athletics Update 2/26

Catholic League Honors Girls Basketball Players

During a ceremony at University of Detroit Mercy, the Detroit Catholic League honored junior students Allison Bloomberg (All Catholic), and Pnina Schloss (All League), and senior student Samantha Darmon (All Academic) for their accomplishments during the 2015-2016 basketball season. This is Pnina’s second year she was named to the All League basketball team. The girls team will return to action on Monday, February 29 at Lutheran North for a first round MHSAA district game. Tipoff on Monday will be 7:00 pm.
Boys Varsity Basketball Dominate Lutheran South
The Jaguars took their game on the road to Newport, Michigan to take on Lutheran South in a non-conference contest. The Jags fell behind early on a deep three from the South guard, but quickly answered by scoring the next 18 points. FJA never relinquished the big lead, cruising to an impressive victory. The boys jumped out to the lead behind the marksman-like shooting of Jeremy Rosenberg, as he pumped in three straight three-pointers. The point guard, Jacob Viviano, did his job as he worked to find the open Rosenberg each time down the court. Isaac Reed, Eli Hamer, and Ean Otis dominated the post and outrebounded Lutheran South the entire night. The boys will return to the court on Monday, February 29 to play Ann Arbor Central at the JCC. The tip is scheduled for 5:00 pm for JV and 6:30 pm for varsity.
