New Scholarship Honors Rabbi Grossman’s Legacy and Helps Secure Graduates’ Future

How can a school honor the legacy of a leader who championed personal growth, academic ambition, and authentic curiosity? The Rabbi Grossman Scholarship is Frankel Jewish Academy’s way of ensuring the educational values Rabbi Grossman held dear continue to benefit our students.

Rabbi Grossman, who joined Frankel Jewish Academy in its second year of existence, (then known as JAMD), as Department Chair of a fledgling Bible Department, quickly earned the respect of students and colleagues.  A master storyteller, inspiring teacher, and lover of Star Wars, his ultimate objective was to guide each student to discover the “force” within that would guide and inspire them even after they had graduated from FJA.

As Head of School, Rabbi Grossman further sought to create opportunities for student self-discovery. His mantra of “no ideal graduate” encapsulated his vision that each student has a personal path waiting to be uncovered and discovered. We are proud to announce that the legacy Rabbi Grossman imparted will continue and flourish with the establishment of the scholarship bearing his name.

To help insure that Rabbi Grossman’s legacy continues to inspire the next generation of FJA students, we have established the Rabbi Eric Grossman Scholarship.  This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of the Academy to help defray the costs of future study wherever their dreams may take them, whether college, gap year, yeshiva or IDF service.

The award, seeded by more than a dozen donors, pays tribute to Rabbi Grossman for his leadership and ensures his contributions to FJA will continue long past his departure. For years to come, the Rabbi Grossman Scholarship will help motivate students to embrace their FJA education, to explore opportunities and most of all, to pursue aspirations they are most passionate about.
